Bee Health in Europe - An overview
Our “Bee health in Europe – Facts & Figures” compendium gave the most up-to-date information on the topic when it was published in August, 2011. Now, just more than a year later, we’re in a position to start compiling new information on bee health. In this overview, we highlight the still-valid main points of the earlier document while at the same time giving in the foreword a preview of new data that we will present in detail in our next full review, scheduled for publication in 2013.

Bee Health in Europe

The “Bee Health in Europe” conference, the second event out of the series of eight organised by OPERA Research Centre took place in Warsaw on 19th February 2013. The partner of the event in Poland was the Apiculture Division of University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, a leading science unit regarding apiculture. The key scientists specialising in apiculture and bee health took part in the conference. The event was hosted by TV journalist, Malgorzata Mocheta-Pastuszko, TVP1, Agrobiznes show.

Bee Health in Europe

The first event of the road show “Bee Health in Europe” organized by OPERA Research Centre has taken place on January 23rd 2013 in Berlin. In Germany, the event was organized in partnership with the Julius Kühn-Institute (JKI), the Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants. Renowned speakers and participants gathered to share their point of view on bee health.  The event was hosted by Silke Beckendorf, chief editor of Deutsches Bienen-Journal who also led the round table and the discussion.

OPERA Research Centre - together with European Landowners’ Organization (ELO) and Syngenta - invited all the stakeholders at the "Greening Partnership Day", an open debate that took place in the European Parliament in Brussels on the 16th of October 2012.

Workshop on the Directive for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides in Slovenia

In Ljubljana the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia and OPERA Research Center co-organized the workshop entitled “Workshop on the Directive for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides in Slovenia”. The stakeholder workshop gathered representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, different associations and the private sector.

XIV Symposium in Pesticide Chemistry: Pesticides in the environment: fate, modeling and risk mitigation
The 14th Symposium of Pesticide Chemistry was edited by the Institute of Agriculture and Environmental Chemistry of the Catholic University and was held in Piacenza- Italy, from 30th August- 1st September 2011. General and special subjects regarding to environmental fate of pesticides, modelling, risk characterization, risk prevention and mitigation were covered.
