Calliera Maura et al – The paper critically examines the Erasmus+ YOU4BLUE project as an educational initiative designed to strengthen youth sustainability competences through a blended place‑based approach. The study involved 49 students from Sardinia, Crete and Mallorca, combining online learning, field activities and three international exchanges.

Overall, the paper argues that integrating place‑based education, citizen science and participatory methods effectively promotes sustainability competences and environmentally responsible behaviour among youth in coastal settings.
