Heroic

HEROIC (Health and Environmental Risks: Organisation, Integration and Cross-fertilisation of Scientific Knowledge) is a multi-partner coordination action project between 9 institutions from seven EU countries, funded by the European Commission under the 7^th Framework Programme- The coordinator is SCHAT the Swiss Center for Human Applied Toxicology of the University of Basel.

Its main objective is the improvement and harmonisation of tools and methods used for human and environmental risk assessment (RA) of chemicals of different classes (pesticides, biocides, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, industrial chemicals), by exploring how data generated in the two disciplines of human and environmental toxicology can be applied across disciplines for integrated RA, developing a framework for integrated methodologies and approaches for RA.
