The three years research project ANAPNOÍ (Healthy breathing for well ageing), started in February 2016, involves researchers from four different campuses of the Università Cattolica (Brescia, Milano, Piacenza and Rome). Six research groups, from different scientific fields (environmental and solid state physics, sociology, agriculture and medical science) have evaluated how indoor and outdoor pollution, in urban and periurban areas, is linked with the development of some lung diseases for the elderly, to supply guidelines about behavioural adjustments to reduce risks and foster healthy ageing.
The OPERA staff was responsable for the work on Residents Perceptions of non-dietary pesticide exposure risk and Knowledge gaps and challenges for targeted awareness-raising material in Italy.
